If you made a UPI payment and need a refund (due to failed transaction), you can follow these steps:

? Step-by-step Process:

  1. Check the UPI App:

Go to your UPI app → Transaction History → Select the transaction → Tap “Raise Dispute” or “Report a Problem.”

  2. Wait for Initial Resolution:

Allow 2–3 business days for the app to see if it reflects your refund automatically.

  3. Escalate to Your Bank (if unresolved):

Visit your bank branch or call customer care. Provide:

    • UTR number / Transaction ID

    • UPI ID and Date of Transaction

    • Screenshots of transaction and issue

    • Reason for refund/chargeback

  4. Ask Bank to Initiate Chargeback:

The bank will raise the issue with NPCI for reversal.

  5. Final Escalation (if needed):

If no resolution within 7–10 working days, file a complaint with:

Processing Time: Usually 7–15 working days

Success Rate: High if you follow the steps and provide proper proof to the bank and NPCI portal.
